For Landsat & EOS-DB direct receiving stations

FarEarth for direct broadcast satellites is an acquisition and image processing software platform for your direct receiving station. It supports direct broadcast Earth observation satellite missions such as Landsat, NOAA, Metop, and Suomi-NPP.

  • Scalable, unified multi-mission platform

  • Scheduling and deconfliction

  • Antenna and demodulator control

  • Observer with a real-time moving window display

  • Automated image processing workflows

  • Flexible data archiving, cataloguing, and dissemination options

  • Industry standard product generation

  • Real-time fire events

  • Priority scene cut-outs

The FarEarth acquisition and processing platform is deployed at your receiving station. Optionally, you can use the FarEarth Gateway processing platform - our managed cloud-based service, where we handle the infrastructure and maintenance.

FarEarth provides data processing for various satellites. The software deconflicts acquisitions across multiple missions, antennas, and demodulators. It hides the complexity of controlling hardware from various vendors. FarEarth includes data management with an Archive and Catalogue. FarEarth has standard processors for Landsat missions and EOS-DB satellites.

For Landsat missions

FarEarth enables ground stations around the world to downlink and process Landsat images. The software automates scheduling, acquisition, antenna control, and deconfliction. FarEarth processes raw Landsat image data up to Level 1TP, certified by the USGS.

FarEarth supports the active Landsat 8 & 9 satellites as well as processing of older archive mission data.

For EOS-DB satellites

Earth Observation Satellite Direct Broadcast (EOS-DB) satellites collect a variety of meteorological, oceanographic, terrestrial, climate, atmospheric, and other specialised images and data. FarEarth enables ground stations to downlink and process EOS-DB data. The platform processes raw image data up to scientific orthorectified products. FarEarth supports the Suomi NPP, NOAA, and Metop missions. Products can be generated for the VIIRS, CrIS, ATMS, OMPS, and CERES instruments.

Real-time processing

Landsat and EOS-DB missions transmit data down to the antenna below while imaging Earth. The FarEarth acquisition software connects directly to the demodulator data stream. FarEarth processes the data as it is downlinked. It detects events such as fires in real-time and sends alerts before the acquisition completes. This means you can receive a fire alert and an image cutout within seconds of imaging.
